About

As a child, I would spend hours drawing, recreating portraits (Elvis was my muse back then) and enjoying the process. I stopped after high school as I wanted to discover the world.
My mum was so supportive and my biggest fan. She wanted me to focus on drawing full time, but I wanted an international career. Back then, I was also struggling to know what I wanted to express through my art, and I needed to live first. After 30 years of ups and downs, joys and heartbreaks, my life has shaped me and gave me the substance I needed.
The arrival of my daughter in 2019 and the loss of my mother in 2020 amid the pandemic made a huge impact in my life and compelled me to draw again. I want to surround my daughter with beauty, creativity, and color while explaining our particular story.
When searching for books to help explain my daughter’s unique conception story in a lighthearted and age-appropriate way, I quickly realized how few resources existed—especially those that reflected the realities of solo parenting.
Inspired by this gap, I decided to write my own. My story speaks to a growing number of families created through non-traditional paths, made possible by the evolving landscape of assisted reproductive technology. Through my book, I hope to spark more open, inclusive conversations around the many ways families are formed today.
